Uppsala’s museums open their doors for a joint evening special event. In Gustavianum, student guides create exciting encounters with the past. Guided tours in Swedish every half hour and English every hour on the hour. 2 June, 20.00 – 00.00

Mortui vivos docent - The dead teach the living
The Latin Quote as Professor Rudbeck, the architect of the infamous anatomical theater, lived after. During the museum night Gustavianum invites to a revelation through ancient times, the Viking Age and the medieval period of science, to highlight the dead and pass on knowledge to the living.

Finished in 1663 and designed by the first professor in practical medicine, Olof Rudbeck the Elder, Gustavianum's Anatomical Theatre is known as one of Europe's oldest dissection theatres. In this concluding tour, we talk about the design of the theatre, its history, and its relationship with death.
