The renowned statistician and scholar John Ioannidis (Stanford University) will present an overview on how science has perhaps become too prolific and too successful and reflect on what role statistics and optimal methods can and should play in helping us understand and counteract detrimental research practices.
John Ioannidis is Professor at Stanford University, has served as President for the Society for Research Synthesis Methodology, and has been editorial board member of many leading journals (including PLoS Medicine and the Lancet among others), and Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Clinical Investigation (2010-now).
The seminar will be followed by a meet-and-greet session where refreshment is served.
