Workshop “Non-Recognised Entities under International and EU Law”

The purpose of the event is to discuss theoretical and practical issues related to the phenomenon of legal systems of non-recognised entities in Europe, ranging from Abkahzia and South Ossetia, to Donetsk and Lugansk, and Nagorno-Karabakh and Transnistria. The event will focus on international (UN) and EU’s policies towards non-recognised entities. The issue of self-determination of Catalonia under Spanish Constitutional law is also to be discussed. The participants of the workshop represent universities in Austria, Georgia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, the UK and Ukraine. They bridge the issues of international law, EU external policy, EU sanctions policy and legal systems of non-recognised entities under the framework of law in context analysis. Contributions of the participants will lead to a collective monograph publication.
