Additive manufacturing is changing how we design, manufacture and use both existing and new products. In order to benefit from this new technology, we need to have a complete understanding of its potential, including the ones related to business modelling.
Academic research and industrial development has aimed mainly on getting the technology to work, on its application to develop new materials and to optimize production processes. However, additive manufacturing will also change how companies run their business, how they position themselves in markets and value chains, how they interact with customers, how they define their core business and, ultimately, how they earn their income.
Welcome to join an open seminar on the challenges and opportunities that additive manufacturing may have on business models. Together with researchers from various disciplines, representatives from industrial companies, authorities and health care sector we will discuss how additive manufacturing can change the logic on which their business is based.
