The Department of Ecology and Genetics hereby invite all interested to a docentship lecture in subject Evolutionary Genetics.

Lecturer: Arild Husby
Chairperson: Professor Hans Ellegren
Representative of the Docentship Committee: Professor Monika Schmitz

Abstract: Quantitative genetics has a long history in the field of evolutionary genetics. In this lecture I will describe how we can use information about the variance and covariance among relatives to provide insights into the genetic basis of complex traits and how these insights have held up in the genomic era.

The lecture is an obligatory teaching test for those applying for admittance as docent and it should be possible for students and others with basic academic education in the relevant field to follow it. The lecture lasts 40-45 minutes with subsequent discussion. The lecture will be given in English.
